Cohort detail
- Grade breakdown
- G1: 10 G2: 4 G3: 0
- Sex distribution
- 10 female, 4 male (n=14, extracted from GSM 'gender' field)
- Age distribution
- n=14, range 36-73, mean 54.1 (extracted from GSM 'age' field)
- Anatomic location
- Per-sample tumor location recorded in GSM characteristics for all 14 samples (e.g. left tentorial, left temporal, occipital, left sphenoid wing, right frontoparietal, cerebellopontine angle, spinal, posterior right subfalcine, right sphenoid wing, right parasagittal, right falcine, right frontal, right temporal); not aggregated into named anatomic categories here, see review note
- Brain invasion
- 3 of 14 samples (all WHO grade II) explicitly note brain invasion in the per-sample histology characteristic field: Jed18 ('meningothelial with brain invasion'), Jed49 ('atypical with brain invasion'; also a recurrence per its location field 'posterior right subfalcine (recurrence)'), Jed53 ('transitional with brain invasion'). Jed58 ('atypical') does NOT mention brain invasion and is not counted.
- Normal/control tissue
- commercial reference normal brain RNA (Affymetrix Tissue Map brain reference samples 01-03, http://www.affymetrix.com/support/technical/sample_data/gene_1_0_array_data.affx), not patient-matched and not deposited as individual GSM records (n=3)
